The Weather Outside is Frightful

So the weather outside is frightful right now, but as you can see, I've got a beautiful view, regardless!  (Yes, that's my actual view)  Our school district has actually cancelled school twice so far for snow.  This school district has not cancelled school very often, so you know this winter has been rough.  We got 9 inches of snow this week, and this was my view the following morning!

Of course, I fondly look out at my little 1953 Clipper Airstream, and wish for the day when we'll be back on the road again.  Of course, there is about a foot and a half of snow on the roofs of our Airstreams right now, but, that being said, we've started to make our plans for this spring and summer!  (yes, we could take out the Airstream and do some winter camping, but it's just not up there on my bucket list - I don't like to be cold!)

What are your plans for 2017?  Where will you be going on the road?  For now, I'm deep cleaning my house, and putting all my dreams and plans together for the good weather!

Happy New Year!

I hope that you enjoy last January's picture of our backyard after a snowstorm on the heading.  We don't have such a great opportunity to take a picture of both the Airstreams this year, as they are spending their winter in a separation.  The 1963 is in the back yard, while the 1953 awaits next to the garage for a possible winter get-away with Dad & the kids!  It's been in the minus temperatures over the New Year, so it's not looking good, although the 1953 is in the 100's when the furnace is turned on.  (We usually have to just have it on pilot, or it turns into a little sweat lodge!)

I pray that God bless you in the New Year - 2010!

Tiling is finished!

Well, my husband's biggest worry on the camper is done! He has worried from day one on the installation of the floor tile, but did find that it wasn't all that bad. In fact, once the first few tiles were in, the rest was pretty smooth sailing. We put in an Armstrong linoleum tile that calls for a glue.
The color is Candy Apple Green, which we had to special order from Home Depot. We decided to go with Home Depot only because they didn't charge extra to have a special order. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience there, yet again with employees in the process of picking it up. It took 45 minutes for the Customer Service to get one of the guys to bring it to the front for me, and then he took off right away without helping me load it in my car. I didn't have the time to wait for the guy that was called to the parking lot to help me, so I loaded the heavy boxes myself! Then, to my dismay, I found that two boxes had been thrown around and cracked the flooring, so after another 30 minute wait for help at the Customer Service, I got it at a reduced price. This experience seems to be the norm, as I have this difficulty every time that I go to Home Depot for something. I highly recommend Menard's! They have the flooring, but charge a delivery fee on it. We have gotten the rest of the materials at Menard's.
My husband followed up with two coats of sealant that also adds a shine to it. The tiles look absolutely fabulous! I can't wait to see how it all looks with the cupboards and furniture in place too!

Too Cold

When is it to cold to work outside on the camper? I say -31 degrees is a good temperature not to work in it. As much as I wanted to, it was just too cold outside. We will wait until Saturday when it is back to 18 degrees.
